Julian Debreuil - Founder & Director

Sir John Tomlinson & Rachel Nicholls - Patrons

The LONDON SINGERS’ COLLECTIVE LTD curates educational resources for classical singers. Throughout 2024 we are running panel discussions on highly relevant topics, a Stanislavski Workshop for Singers, the inaugural Bailey Concert Singers’ Symposium, language coaching, movement coaching, courses in essential business skills such as professional networking, accounting and taxes, event production, marketing & digital training, and application form guidance for jobs, funding, and education programmes. In addition, once a month we release video-interviews with established singers, directors, and conductors.

Our Mission is to provide the information and capabilities that serious-minded singers need to be well-rounded and able to do their jobs. We do not compare ourselves to other institutions in the industry, all that matters is what our clients need. The LSC believes in collaboration, in addition to healthy competition, for the benefit of singers everywhere. Our events and services are run in-person by experienced and thoughtful leaders, inspired with the will to pass on their expertise and knowledge.

The LONDON SINGERS’ COLLECTIVE LTD is founded and run by Julian Debreuil. For each event, the LSC works with a hand-picked project-delivery team, to ensure the attendees are receiving the most relevant and useful experience, which they can then take into their own practice and development. The LSC achieves this through building strong business relationships with fellow leading Arts Institutions. Upcoming collaborations will feature the National Opera Studio, Clore Leadership, Audition Oracle, Valentine Voice Care, the Drake Calleja Trust, and Red Kite Enterprises Ltd.

The LONDON SINGERS’ COLLECTIVE LTD is a corporate member of the Royal Philharmonic Society, and a referral partner of the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain.

LSC Initiate Scheme

The LSC Initiate scheme gives singers guidance on how to complete application forms. We cover jobs, conservatoires, courses and funding applications, thereby increasing the odds of matching extremely talented and hardworking individuals to outstanding institutions and companies.

Applications can be daunting at first glance, especially if written in your second or third language. LSC Initiate has a working knowledge of music industry application forms of all kinds. We will help you get it done, and will happily source translators where helpful. Temporary language barriers, or unfamiliarity with application procedures, should not present a long-term barrier to career progression. Let us help you with this sometimes uncomfortable process.

If you would like us to perform this service for you, please contact us using the email icon on the Home Page, and we will arrange an appointment to discuss your needs. Please cover the following points so we can be ready to help you:

  • Language of preference
  • What kind of application do you need help with? Job, college/course, or funding?
  • Your location, so that we can arrange whether to meet in person or via Zoom.

All our business rates can be found here.

LSC Singer Support

We all experience stress in our lives. It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to ask for help. We sometimes pick up minor injuries. This is normal, and there should be no stigma attached. In order to provide support for singers in these situations, we have created LSC Singer Support - a network of professionals from across the Vocal, Health, and Nutrition industries. Click on the photos to be taken to the practitioners’ websites.

Declan Costello, ENT Surgeon - specialist in the treatment of vocal disorders

Kate Valentine, Vocal Massage Therapist & opera singer

Julie Cooper, Nutritionist & singer with leading UK ensembles

LSC Ethos

  • WE LEAD FROM THE FRONT to create positive change, by curating engaging programmes for the sole benefit of singers. We design events which inspire singers to learn, because inspiration works better than dictation.

  • WE LOOK FOR UNMET NEEDS in each singer and aim to fill the gaps with relevant experiences and practical skills, which they can take into their daily lives as either fully-employable professionals, or engaged amateurs.

  • WE SPREAD SOLUTIONS THAT WORK by identifying strategies and methods that successfully further the life-long education of singers in effective and replicable ways. Every singer is unique but when we find something that benefits one, we make it available to all.

  • WE FORM PARTNERSHIPS, because together we can achieve more. Healthy competition is striving together to reach ever-higher standards. Cooperation is solving problems together so that no singer is left without a support network.

  • WE EMPOWER SINGERS with the knowledge and resources to make their own decisions and forge their own paths, so that they can contribute uniquely and meaningfully to the UK’s creative arts sector.

LSC Community

Building a supportive singing community is important to us. You can subscribe, for free, by clicking on the email icon on the Home Page and writing us a quick message. Tell us a little about yourself, what your specific needs as a singer are, and we will help you to identify which of our events or services best suit you. If there aren’t any, we will work with you to design one! We look forward to hearing from you! Spread the word, and help grow the community.
